Racing
Single Ski Club is a member of ROKKA League, which is comprised
of teams from various ski clubs in the L.A. area. ROKKA sponsors
Slalom and Giant Slalom races each season. There are 10 separate
classes from beginner to expert so you’ll always be racing
against people of equal ability. It’s also fun to learn how to
do the gates and have some tangible evidence of your racing
ability. Each year Single Ski Club is in the running for the
league championship. Last year we finished second, but not this
year. We intend to win the league, but we need everyone’s
participation! All ROKKA racers who qualify are invited to
participate in the L.A. Council Race, and the Far West
Championships.
During the
first week of December, Single Ski Club participates in
ROKKA’s Learn to Ski, Board, and Race week at Mammoth Mountain Ski Area. Skiing and racing lessons are
offered for skiers and boarders, from beginner through advanced.
Thirty hours over a five-day period with an expert instructor in
small classes guarantees that you will increase your skiing
ability at least one level. The week ends with a banquet with
your class and your graduation. For more information on
Ski, Board and Race week, we will publish when available.
Come
join Single Ski Club for ROKKA week, our races and our weekend
bus trips to Mammoth Mountain Ski Area. |
